A Syracuse University student filed a complaint against his landlord for criminal trespassing on several separate occasions at his residence on the 1100 block of Madison Street, according to a police report.
The student reported that he was awakened by the sound of someone entering his apartment the morning of Oct. 16, the report stated.
He found his landlord in his kitchen, rooting through his cabinets, the report added.
When the student asked what the landlord was doing, the landlord replied that she was making sure he wasn't "up to something suspicious," the report stated.
The student found the landlord rummaging through his living room Monday, the report added.
The student returned home and found a man he suspected to be the landlord's "live-in boyfriend" exiting his apartment and locking the door at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, the report stated.
When questioned as to her motives in the incidents, the landlord invoked her rights to an attorney and disconnected her phone, the report said.
Raymond Barth, 23, was charged with criminal trespassing at about 10 a.m. Wednesday at Haven Residence Hall, according to a police report.
Public Safety had detained Barth until Syracuse Police arrived, the report added.
Barth had in his possession an SU identification card that allowed him to gain access to university buildings, the report stated.
Barth was wanted for questioning about the recent string of burglaries at Haven, the report added.
An SU student's car was broken into between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 16 in Thornden Park, according to a police report.
The car's rear driver's-side window was broken, and the stereo was damaged, the report added.
