Staff Report

Two minutes and seven seconds into the game, the Syracuse women's basketball team was in good shape. Winning, 4-2, the Orangewomen had just scored back-to-back baskets to take the lead on a Julie McBride bucket.
Then George Washington reeled off 13 consecutive points.
Syracuse never recovered in its 65-43 loss last night. The Orangewomen scored 14 first-half points, and McBride, SU's top offensive threat, didn't score for the final 27:56.
Syracuse went into halftime trailing, 27-14. The Orangewomen had hit just 6 of 25 shots, good for 24 percent.
Guard Marchele Campbell came off the bench to lead SU with 12 points in 19 minutes. She was SU's only player in double figures.
Sophomore Tierra Jackson led SU with 10 rebounds. Guard Rochelle Coleman didn't make the trip because of an illness and was replaced in the lineup by Sarah Wegrzynowicz, who had two points and four boards.
Syracuse next plays Sunday, when the Orangewomen host Yale in Manley Field House at noon.
