- ANNUAL FESTIVALS

THE WARPED TOUR is celebrating its 10th anniversary this summer. This year's version features over 40 bands, including Yellowcard, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte and New Found Glory. The six-stage concert starts at noon and usually continues to about 10 p.m. With tickets just over $30, the tour gives a great bang for the buck.

The third annual PROJEKT REVOLUTION features perhaps the oddest pairing of the summer. Linkin Park headlines in support of last year's release Meteora. Supporting bands include Korn, Less Than Jake, The Used and, yes, Snoop Dogg. "I got me a band now, the Snoopadelics, who I've been rollin' with for the past year," Snoop told MTV News, hinting that he might tweak his performance for the rock audience sure to be present.

- ARTISTS PROMOTING RECENT RELEASES

One of the most intriguing tours this summer is the NO DOUBT/BLINK 182 trek. Could it be No Doubt's farewell tour? They just released their greatest hit album, and Gwen Stefani is working on a solo CD. And with the grown-up sound of Blink's recent self-titled release, will they still put on a potty-mouthed show, or will they show their newfound maturity? This should be a very entertaining tour, and I hope not No Doubt's last.

BRITNEY SPEARS is embarking on the "Onyx Hotel Tour" in support of her fourth studio album, Britney. In commercials Britney says, "Come see me live, you won't believe your eyes." And on her Web site, she says that "the Onyx Hotel is a vibrant, whimsical place where wondrous dreams are realized, and the darkest of secrets are revealed." Should be interesting. Kelis opens for the tour.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA is going on tour too and seems to be trying to further her "street cred" by touring with St. Louis rapper Chingy. Last summer she toured with Justin Timberlake in support of Stripped, and second tours for even a highly successful album are quite unusual. It seems to me that she is trying to milk every last cent out of Stripped.
