House burglarized over Thanksgiving break

An unidentified person broke into the residence of seven Syracuse University students, taking about $2,800 worth of belongings from their home on the 800 block of Comstock Avenue some time over Thanksgiving break, according to a police report.

One of the students returned from break to find that the window of one of the screens on the porch was missing a screen, and had been opened, the report stated.

Despite five of the seven bedroom doors being locked, the person pried their way into all of the rooms, taking jewelry, DVDs, clothes, expensive sunglasses and purses, the report stated.

n An unidentified person broke into a student's vehicle at about 2 a.m. Nov. 18 on the 700 block of Comstock Avenue, according to a police report.

There was damage to the locks and to the dashboard where the stereo was removed.

n Police recovered a stolen vehicle at about noon Monday in a vacant parking lot on Hope Avenue, according to a police report.
