The memory of Pan Am Flight 103 is still painful to Jason Tarr's family.

Tarr's first cousin, Lynne Carol Hartunian, was one of the 270 people who lost their lives over Lockerbie, Scotland. Hartunian was a student at the State University of New York at Oswego.

"It's kind of a difficult family subject to talk about," Tarr said.

When Tarr came to Syracuse University, he knew he wanted to be a Remembrance Scholar. Now a senior, Tarr's journey is complete.

The broadcast journalism, international relations and Spanish major devoted himself to his commemoration of Gary Colasanti.

Tarr said he realized the importance of not only honoring memory of his cousin, but the memory of the person he would be representing.

Colasanti studied at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and Tarr found many similarities between himself and Colasanti.

Colasanti loved sports, photography and keeping things upbeat, Tarr said.

"He had the ability to touch so many people," Tarr said. "I think he still has the ability to touch people. I want to provide students a glimpse of the effect Gary had even for such a short time."
