Obama Wins

After almost two years of a bitter battle that resulted in more buzzwords and ridiculous events than anything else, Sen. Barack Obama was named the next president of the United States. For the past two years the country was hooked on politics, addicted to the news, scandals and hilarious bits on television. Now that it's over, only one question remains, what will everyone do with their time? What will comedians make fun of? What will happen to Sarah Palin? Maybe she'll resurface in three years after some political plastic surgery and have another go at it. Or get her own show.

In the meantime Obama's president-elect and "change" is the only buzzword we'll hear for some time to come. Who's the maverick now?
Main to South, SU celebrates historical day
SU rallied around a cause Tuesday night when Obama was named president. In an unprecedented celebration worthy of an NCAA championship, SU students had a big party wherever they could assemble - the streets, the Quad, outside someone's apartment - man, we know how to celebrate. Despite the beer and other unmentionables, it was great to see students assembling for something other than sports or …a weekend.

Prop. 8 gets voted down - two steps forward, two steps back

Even though America just elected its first black president, it doesn't seem like the country moved forward all that much. California voted in Proposition 8, which defines marriage as a union between a man and woman. Let's just hope it doesn't take more than 200 years for homosexuals to have equal rights.

SU beats Louisville

After going more than a year without a Big East win, Syracuse Orange football defeated the Louisville Cardinals Saturday. The now 2-6 team has the confidence it needs to move on to another week. Let's go boys, make it 3-6.

Life Sciences Complex is dedicated
Even though the Life Sciences Complex has been in use for almost a full semester, SU is now officially dedicating it. Why so late? If this is the real opening, what was going on all semester, unofficial use of the building?
