There's always going to be those shows that no matter how long ago it went off-air are still going to be played everywhere. But watching something that you loved as a kid doesn't mean it'll still be entertaining ten years later. Here's some shows that are inescapable, some are timeless others need to stay as memories.
"Family Matters"
Steve Urkel is evil. The writers of "Family Matters" tried to play it up like Urkel (Jaleel White) was the nerd with a heart of gold. But for all the heinous things Steve did to his neighbors and all the thousands of dollars in damages he caused, all he could do was stand there and make some nerd sound. He never offered to pay, he never helped clean up, he just said, "Did I do that?" Yes, yes you did, you idiot. Someone should've thrown the glasses off his face.
"Family Matters" warmed the hearts of many throughout the '90s, and when the show was in its prime, staying in and watching it was easily the best thing to do on a Friday night. However, try to watch it now and all those memories will be killed.
The formula of "Family Matters" was simple. Someone is faced with a problem that compromises his character, he figures out how to deal with it and it's solved at the end. But that wouldn't be complete if somewhere in the middle Steve Urkel didn't come in and mess everything up.
Once upon a time, watching Urkel break the Winslows' house and confess his undying love for Laura (Kellie Williams) was really funny. But now it seems repetitive and pointless. The sad part of the show is that some episodes are pretty good. However, once that squeaky high-pitched voice comes on and Urkel utters "Did I do that?" or "Hey big guy," everything goes downhill.
In the episode "Life in the Fast Lane," Laura thought she needed to lose weight and considered taking pills. This would've been a great episode teaching girls to love themselves, but no, that didn't happen. Steve just had to take the pills and put on a high act so ridiculous and over the top it probably made the audience want to abuse diet pills, rather than avoid them on pharmacy shelves.

After reading this I am throughly pissed. How can a person be allowed to say such mean things about great tv shows. So what if Steve Urkel was annoying, thats what made the show funny. (Continued…)
