What: 25Park.com sale
When: Today 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Where: Schine Student Center Room 304A and B
How much: varies
The 25Park.com sample sale, today in the Schine Student Center, promises for designer clothes at prices at least 20 percent off. Alpha Epsilon Phi, Alpha Phi, Kappa Kappa Gamma and Sigma Delta Tau sororities are helping to host the event that will be selling various brands including Antik Batik and Elizabeth and James.
25Park.com's one-day event offers students an opportunity to buy designer labels at a discounted price, but the sample sale is not the last chance to buy at a discounted rate. The company's Web site also continually provides 20 percent off to college students.
"25Park.com is taking the largest college initiative in the industry," said Andrew Glaser, 25Park.com's marketing director. "Shopbop is the first Web site of 25Park's kind but the goal of our site is to become a family.
College girls and their friends can go to the site and shop smarter." Today's sale will have clothing ranging in prices from $30 to $700. Jeans, jackets and tops will be available starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m.
Every person who signs up at the sale for the 25Park.com mailing list will be entered into a raffle to win a gift certificate to the Web site and other prizes will be given away throughout the day. Lori Gilbert, a senior advertising major is attending the sale.
"As a sister of Sigma Delta Tau, I am very excited that we are teaming up with 25Park to raise money for our philanthropy," she said. "I love the clothes for sale on 25Park.com, especially the Kain tops and David Lerner leggings."
But not everyone finds the sale to be that great of a buy. Alyssa Cashman, an undecided freshman in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management, said the sale isn't much of a sale because of its unrealistic, high prices.
"I don't think I'd go because even though its cheaper a lot of clothes will be expensive and not applicable on a college budget," Cashman said.
