We all know how crazy holiday traveling can be, but it's that time again. And if you haven't already, you should look into how you are getting out of Syracuse for Thanksgiving Break. With a campus that is almost evenly split between in- and out-of-state students, people are looking for ways to get home. Students come from as close as Syracuse and as far as China, but wherever home is, you should scope out the many options there are for your journey home.



Greyhound

Syracuse to NYC - $80 round trip

Syracuse to DC - $145 round trip

Syracuse to Philadelphia - $109 round trip

Syracuse to Boston - $95 round trip

Greyhound supplies its passengers with free Wi-Fi, outlets, legroom and an eco-friendly way to travel. One piece of checked baggage is free, as are carry-ons no more than 50 pounds. Tickets for Greyhound buses are available through the Schine Bookstore.

MegaBus

Syracuse to NYC - $42 one way, $84.50 round trip

Syracuse to Rochester - $28 one way, $56.50 round trip

All Megabuses have free Wi-Fi. Keep in mind only one standard size suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per person is allowed.

Amtrak

Syracuse to NYC Penn Station - $152 round trip

Syracuse to D.C. - $224 round trip

Syracuse to Philadelphia - $178 round trip

Syracuse to Boston - $155 round trip

Amtrak has a carryout-style food service with soup and salad, pizza, sandwiches, snacks and beverages. Two pieces of carry-on baggage are allowed, and should be no more than 50 pounds.

Orange Line Transportation

Syracuse to White Plains (Westchester) and Penn Station (NYC) - $90 round trip

Orange Line's chartered coach buses have a bathroom, air conditioning/heating and free satellite TV/movie. Orange Line departs from the Syracuse University campus with a maximum of 3 pieces of luggage.

Centro buses will make trips from the Regional Transportation Center in Syracuse, where Amtrak and Greyhound will arrive and depart back to the SU campus on Nov. 29. The times for these buses back to SU can be found on centro.org, or by contacting Centro at 315-442-3400.



Expedia.com, cheapflights.com and travelzoo.com all have flight prices for various airlines. JetBlue is a good choice for inexpensive and comfortable flights.
